Scheduled c-sections. Whether or not to have vbac. Male circumcision. Whether to use alcohol or soap and water on the umbilical cord. Organic baby products. Breastfeeding. All of these topics have recent changes involving them, some are heated and I think it's enough to get you started!

It depends on what you mean. Epidurals, ultrasounds, amniocentesis, many of the blood screening tests, and labor induction through pitocin are all relatively new practices. I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for though. If you are asking what is for lack of a better word "fashionable" right now in child birth, home births with midwives, breastfeeding, daddies in the delivery room, not having newborns circumcised, and having newborns ears pierced are all common today whereas a generation ago, they were practically unheard of.
