My child support case is located in Georgia. I have been told by my Child's mother (CP) that she will be asking the judge to require me (NCP) to pay for son's health insurance next week in our hearing. After reading through the CS Guidelines for my state it us clear that I will more than likely be responsible for his insurance. The guidelines say that the party responsible for paying the insurance will be given an "insurance credit" toward the monthly child support order. Does anyone know how much the insurance credit will be?

Ask the court for the dollar amount.

The credit will be based on the cost to cover them. If your employer offers insurance, be sure you get a copy from HR showing what will be coming out of your paycheck for the insurance so you can give it to the judge. Good luck! been down that road tooooo many times. Hate court!
