Why does Bush spend 80 billion a Month for Iraq war but vetos 75 billion over 5 years for a child health bill?
Is it because he likes killing more then healing?

Well, that's sort of like asking why a tricycle costs 75 bucks and car costs 23,000. You can't compare the two items. Bush offered to raise the dollar figure on SCHIP by a perfectly reasonable amount, but the Dems decided to use the program for political purposes and secure a HUGE increase that is both unnecessary and wasteful. Once again, you lose.

as a so-called Christian Bush has demonstrated his dedication to making WAR and Killling a profitable business in Iraq while ignoring the humanitarian effort of 'blessing" our children with the same decent health care coverage he and his family enjoys!!!!!! such a paradox!!!!!!

did you just read the headlines of the story or did you actually read the details of the bills themselves? every single child health bill that the democrats have been presenting have been extremely flawed in one way or another, especially since they were trying to raise the taxes on a pack of cigarettes to over $1 and they only targetted smokers because they are an easier target than alcoholics or gamblers since smokers are "the devil". here is an idea for the government, legalize online gambling in all forms and tax the hell out of it to support things like this. the taxes from that could pay for all the dumb ideas the democrats have. EDIT - nonames, why dont you try to learn about the bills before you talk like you know anything at all. how about this? i dont care to have my tax money go to people whose parents cant get off their ass and get a job and get insurance for their family.

Ummm, he's not a socialist? The Republicans created the program in the first place and my party extended it to include adults and lower middle-class families? They wanted more money to extend it more and President Bush said, "No" to prevent another way of forcing our medical system to go even more socialist (we've already taken much of the competition out of it, so there's already little to no reason for them to lower prices). Universal Healthcare? Easy way to be sure our taxes will go through the roof, as every medical business has NO reason to compete. Free money, slave labor. Us.

because the health bill is a massive pork project which serves little good from the liberals and the war protects this country from al qaeda...and by the way the color of george washingtons white horse was white if you catch my meaning...next ...thoughtful...question...lmfao.

The survival of the Republic is at stake. The preamble specifically states, "Provide for the Common Defense, Promote the General Welfare".

You obviously didn't read the bill. I did. It would have provided free medical care to children whose parents earn up to $80,000 a year. The SCHIP program was set up to give free medical care to children whose parents were the "working poor". Folks who made just too much to qualify for Medicaid. Eighty grand to me is not working poor.

It will move kids whose parents make up to $83,000 a year onto government health care, when their parents can clearly pay for it. That and a 150% increase on the tobacco tax. When they where first taking about the bill he said he was all for it, then they moved it up to $83,000 and he said that was to much. The Democrats have said his veto will be a victory for them and help them win more seats in 2008. They moved it up to get a veto, to play the people and get vote instead of helathcare for kids. They do not care about heathcare, they care about winning elections.
