Where can I find obligations of a health care worker that suspects child abuse

Where can I find obligations of a health care worker that suspects child abuse?
I am doing a research paper due on Thursday about the moral, legal and ethical obligations a health care worker has in reporting suspected child abuse encountered in their practice. Is there a website that I can go to for this info?

Call your local public defender's office - they should be able to give you a link. In a nutshell - in all 50 states, licensed health care workers are mandated reporters - whether they're a personal care assistant, a lab tech, an x-ray tech, an LPN/LVN, a physician's assistant, a nurse, a physician...the law says they WILL report any such suspicions.

Does having sex while sleeping with child affect mental health

Does having sex while sleeping with child affect mental health?
My 9-year-old daughter often sleep in our bedroom in separated bed. My husband and I are quite often having sex after making sure that she is already sleeping well. Does it affect her mental health? Is there anybody know whether a child brain could 'record' sex activities around while he is sleeping well?

your 9 yr old needs to stay the night in her own room!
2 :
I used to babysit a little boy, about 18 months old when his parents were working. His parents had him sleeping in their room while they had sex. How do I know this? Because their child would make "sex sounds" during the day. I knew that he slept in their room, but obviously they didn't move him when they were being intimate. Have your child sleep somewhere else! 9 is old enough to sleep on their own, and you need privacy.
3 :
Umm You do know that some times kids wake up right? there's a probability that she woke up and acted like she was asleep once. If you don't make her sleep in another room she might just start doing it herself at an early age since she was so openly exploited to it.
4 :
If you have to ask a question like that, maybe you better check into your husband's and your mental health. How are you going to explain anything to your child if she wakes up? There are red flags all over your creepy question.
5 :
Sex isn't the issue here. The issue having a chilc of that age still sleeping with you. You're creating a dependence that is not healthy for her well being. Also you can not be sure she is really asleep while you are having sex or whether or not she awakens while you are having intercourse and how it effects her.
6 :
if she's asleep it won't affect her. but you can never be absolutely certain that she won't wake up, even for a minute also check your local state law -- having sex in the presence of a child may be considered child abuse in your state
7 :
It scares me that people like you raise children. I have heard of similar stories and alot of people including child protective services consider that sexual abuse. I'm worried about your mental health and why you would think that its acceptable to have sex in the same room as your child.
8 :
I'm not sure that's such a good idea! I doubt it will affect her mental health if she sleeps through it (maybe make her have some weird dreams) but what if she wakes up!? If she did wake up, I doubt she'd let you know anyway; she might be pretty embarrassed. I had friends that 'caught' their parents having sex when they were about that age, and it was quite troubling to them. It's one thing just to know your parents have sex (at least it's normal behavior though), but totally another thing to actually see/hear them in the act. I seriously suggest you & your family make some other kind of arrangement. Is it possible she could sleep in another room? If not, could you & your husband quietly move to another room after your daughter is asleep? If not, this could end up being very bad for her. Plus, sex is something that you and your husband should share privately, something to be enjoyed between the two of you, and only the two of you, in an intimate and private setting where you can both relax and enjoy it and not have to worry about someone else intruding. Best wishes.
9 :
Why don't you put your daughter in her own room so that you and your husband can have sex. Children imitate what they see so don't be surprised if your daughter starts imitating your actions. You are disgusting
10 :
There may be some subconscious absorption of sounds but I would doubt if it would have any detrimental effects. Juicie was, just now, really cruel and I'd like to offset her position a little. There are people who believe that children should be sheltered forever if possible. You're not doing anything wrong except perhaps being too lenient. You need your own space; if she has a room to go to, she should.
11 :
You seriously need to rethink your sleeping arragements. I have 3 children and even though I have a small apartment none of them slept in my room pass age three and if I wanted to make love to my parnter the youngest would sleep wiith her sisters that night or we would wait until they weren't home. You really can't be sure that she's sleep all the time she might be watching you under her eyelids and what if she goes to school and tells someone? In NY that would be considered damaging the welfare of a minor and it could get you at the very least arrested and told to go to psychatric therapy. Why can't you leave the room if for some reason your daughter had to sleep with you? My daughter slept in my room for a year after she was molested but I'm a single mom and don't have a partner in fact it's me her and the dog. So even though we were in the same room the most that I had to worry about was what tv shows I watched while she was in here. And no she wasn't with me when she was molested she was visiting her father and someone he thought was a friend tried to rape her and his other daughter while he was at the store. She didn't feel secure in her room by her self it took a year of therapy for her to realize that I wouldn't let anyone hurt her. You need to consider what you're teaching your daughter. That you don't respect your privacy or hers. Would you want her walking in on you?? Oh right it wouldn't matter to you because you don't need privacy.

You mean how those spoiled brats on "Super Sweet 16" get angry when their parent get them the wrong luxury car for their birthday? I want to jump through the screen and stab them, many times. I grew up on welfare, and I was lucky to get anything for my birthday. How's that for emotional impact?

1 :
Enhance: An economy that is strong enough to support public health and medical research. A society that places value on children's lives and encourages mandated reporting of child abuse. Strong cultural and family ties where families work together to create a happy household and follow healthy traditions. Negative: A poor economy that places more value on wealth of the nation than on the health of the citizens. Being isolated from peers. Encouragement of unsafe and illegal cultural practices which place a child's life in danger- for instance, genital mutilation of females.

Does the government pay for a child's health care for its first three years

Does the government pay for a child's health care for its first three years?
I'm organizing facts for a debate and my opponent mentioned something about a child getting free health care for the first 3 years of its life but I was looking it up and it doesn't seem true but I want to make sure.

I hope not. That is the responsibility of the parents. I had to pay to keep my son healthy and alive.

Who is responsible if a child dies for lack of health care

Who is responsible if a child dies for lack of health care?
In the richest country in the world, I think it is morally deficient if a child, or anyone, dies because they can't get a specific operation they need or get health care. What do you think?

No hospital in America can legally refuse to treat someone due to their inability to pay.
3 :
Hospital, the doctor and his team
4 :
If the child was taken to health care and wasn't given the appropriate care then the hospital would be under fault If not given to other health care.
5 :
Blame it all on our form of health care. There are many hospitals that will not take you or your child unless you have health insurance and they always ask that question first. You can call it what you want, but a nation as rich as ours, needs national health care, at leat for the kids. But with politicians being so owning to big medicine, that will never happen. Shame that this happens in america, but it happens everyday. And for those who think that you can get care if you try, they have another think comong. Been there, done that. If you are on wefare or rich, you have health care, If you are in between at 15 to 25,000 a year, you do not. 50 million are in that situation. And yet, we have do gooders who want illegals to come here, get health care, food stamps and free schooling, and to h** with our own poor. What a way to believe.
6 :
The parents are responsible..the states already have free healthcare programs for kids.
7 :
I'm not sure about the situation but i don't think it is possible for them to refuse service like was said before. If something like that happens it would likely to be best to talk to get legal advice on possibly getting restitution or some type of resolve.

Does my unborn child need health insurance

Does my unborn child need health insurance
I have Blue Cross Blue Shield (Individual plan) and they said if I want to add the baby I would have to change it to Family Plan and it would cost me 300 a month. There is no way I can afford that so I am trying to see what my options are. Does anyone know how this is gonna go when I deliver at the hospital, because I not not have insurance for the baby?? This is my first child and I am not familiar with this whole process.

Yes, you will need health insurance for your baby. When the baby is born, there will be quite a few check ups in the first couple months, and it would be a lot more expensive to not have it than to spend the 300 a month.
2 :
Your insurance will cover everything to include delivery - Its after this the baby won't have health coverage - which I would suggest you get so that shots and well baby check-ups are covered
3 :
You will need health insurance for the baby as of day one. Like said by someone else; it will be WAY more than the $300! I have insurance and the nursery bill (dr check for baby) was more than that (just for my part!) Sorry to add stress but it is better you asked it now so you can be prepared. You should have it!
4 :
Insurance companies will not write a child into an insurance policy that is not born yet. Insurance companies typically have a certain amount of time in which you have to add the child to the policy in order for them to cover any medical care to the child from birth. If you can't afford it try applying for Access but you should have insurance for your child. Wellness visits, vaccinations an anything else they do at the child's appointments are very expensive without coverage and babies are seen at the doctor ever 2 months after they are born.
5 :
When we went to preregister at the hospital last month I asked the lady registering us what happens the day the baby is born, when do we get him insurance? She said the first 30 days the baby is covered under us or myself (I'm on my husband insurance) after that he will need his own insurance of course, but the delivery is under me so I'm covered.
6 :
health-quotes.isgreat.org - try this one. My sister had no problem with her insurance coverage while being pregnant.

What health problems would make a child too ill to travel

What health problems would make a child too ill to travel?
I'm writing a short story. I need to know what a child could have that would make her too ill to travel to another country, so I need a health problem that would be quite significant, and possibly something that lasted for a number of months (in fact, something that rendered her unable to travel for years would be even better, if such a health problem exists). Please help, I really want my story to be authentic. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much.

Hey 'CR' cancer can prevent you from traveling like if you constantly have to check in with your doctor, take medicine, be treated or get blood transfusions. Also if a person has like a fake heart or needs to be on a ventilator, that cold keep them from traveling. Thanks, I hope you look into these and I hope i helped!
