Both the father and mother should be drug-free, alcohol-free, and smoke-free prior to conceiving. If either of you are on prescription medication, you should consult your doctor to ask about any potential risks associated with conceiving while you are taking those medications. The mother should also be at a healthy weight before conception if possible. Nutrition is also very important especially for the mother. It is essential that the mother not be deficient in B vitamins, especially folic acid. Folic acid deficiency in early pregnancy (very early pregnancy....like in the first 2 weeks kind of early) has been associated with spinal cord defects. So if you are trying to conceive make sure to eat plenty of leafy greens and whole grains and possibly take a supplment for folic acid. Avoid, mega doses of vitamins before conceiving as well as too much of some fat soluable vitamins can also cause birth defects. Make sure that her shots are up-to-date particularly for rubella since contracting rubella in the frist trimester of pregnancy can cause serious birth defects. Get a checkup with your doctor as there may be other genetic issues or chronic health problems particular to you that might need to be addressed before conceiving. The following link can give you a good idea of the risks involved with pregancy and she can expect as a result of having a baby: http://www.thelizlibrary.org/liz/004.htm

What would be the definition of health from a preschooler, school-aged child, adolescent, young adult, middle

What would be the definition of health from a preschooler, school-aged child, adolescent, young adult, middle?

I know health definitions differs from person to person.

I wonder if a preschooler can define health, it could be ' being strong and not having fever'. School going may say,' Absence of any disease.' Adolescents/ young adults - ' A state of well-being is health.' Adult- (proper definition)- A state of physical, mental & social wellbeing is health, not merely absence of any disease'. Hope it helps.

Can a married person age 18 get CHILD HEALTH PLUS insurance for herself

Can a married person age 18 get CHILD HEALTH PLUS insurance for herself?
Her husband does not have insurance and neither does she. His age is above 20 and he makes in excess of maximum limitations set by Family Health Plus/Medicaid/Healthy NY. Therefore he will go without insurance. However, since his wife is 18 can she get child health plus if her legal guardian is her husband (basically)? Up to what age is she eligible for Child Health Plus? What I do know is that CHP is up to age 19. However, the child in this case is legally married to someone without health insurance and an income much higher than max limits set by the State Dept. Thanks for the answer! Please provide source as well/experience. If the married child is 17 is that still a disqualifier? In other words marriage is an automatic disqualification? Thanks for the clarification!

When you are married, you are no longer considered a child.
2 :
No...married is the disqualifier.
3 :
If married and under age 21, you have to apply as an adult to your state Medicaid. Look for the state or county website about applying.
4 :
Each state sets the requirements for child welfare health insurance. Some states cut children off when they are 18, most when they are 19, but ALL of them will cut off a child who is married - if you're old enough to be in a marriage, then you're too old for child welfare health insurance. It's your husband's responsibility to provide for you, not every OTHER working taxpayer in your state. Yes. The marriage is an automatic disqualifier for child welfare health insurance. You'd have to apply for welfare health insurance through the medicaid program in your state, NOT the child health insurance program. The only exception, would be if you are pregnant. If you are pregnant, most states will give the mother welfare health insurance, but limit it to ONLY things related to the pregnancy.

Can masturbation before having sex with your wife long before affect your future child's health

Can masturbation before having sex with your wife long before affect your future child's health?

No. That sounds like urban legend type of stuff.
2 :
How could it possibly affect your child in any way? Your wife does not get pregnant normally on the first time you have sex. So how would anyone know if you had sex or masturbated? The ejaculation is the same. The myth about masturbation causing your children to be mentally retarded is a retarded idea.
3 :
Yes
4 :
no ,it just will increase the time during the course
5 :
no

Liken it to the roulette wheel. Each "load" of sperm carries the unique individual sperm which will comprise the characteristics of your genes to a future spouse's egg. For example one load may contain a future President of the United States while another load may contain a mass murderer. My own theory is that the healthier you are, the healthier your sperm are, so if you want the best chances of a healthy baby, stay healthy! Other than that, it is fairly random from each load of sperm which one will break through the egg and develop eventually into a baby. The male sperm are the best swimmers though, I have heard that.
7 :
Huh??? (scratching head)
8 :
no
9 :
NO,NEVER. SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU PRODUCE NEW SPERM 24/7 AND THE OLD STUFF GETS RE ABSORBED. COLORS A STUPID MYTH.

Does anyone have child health plus

Does anyone have child health plus?
Hi! I was wondering if anyone has child health plus insurance & what they think of it. My daughter has had Hip Smart Start since birth It's $250 a month, $25 co-pay, 15% discount on prescriptions & I feel like Im getting ripped with it. The only good thing is I dont need a referal for any specialist. Im not sure if that is a huge diffrence/plus, as Ive heard with Child Health Plus they have to okay everything first b/f you can see a specialist (i.e. allergy, nureologist, etc...) I live in NY if that matters any =)

How do get my husband to let his sister who is in good health take responsibility for her child who lives in

our home and is causing tension and stress between me and my husband

You need to explain that it is both your home and you are tired of giving it up to someone else. Tell him to make some changes or your gone. Help her by looking for a job and another place for her to live. Sometimes we have to speak rather rough so tell him and be serious about it.
2 :
You will have to put your foot down and tell him that the child cannot stay with you. Why is the child with you in the first place? Is the mother a drug addict? If she is or has shady characters in and out of her life, this could be why your husband lets the child stay with you. Is there someplace else the child can stay? Just tell your husband your feelings. Your marriage can't handle the stress and something needs to be done.
3 :
That's a tuff one. Without all of the facts it's hard to give an opinion. Is she on drugs, alcohol or just plain lazy. I think I would say on this one... If the tension in the household is because you resent her not taking responsibility for her child, then look at the situation more closely. Is it better for the child for you and hubby to be responsible? Think of all of the circumstances involved, then re think your complaint. Otherwise, the only one who is really paying...is the child. These kids see and feel the tension and stress more than you think... yet they don't truly understand why the happiness is not there. Don't underestimate kids.
4 :
I am not going to send you to some web site for an answer. What you should do is sit your husband down for a serious discussion. Please talk to him alone where you won't be disturbed and try to be assertive and don't attack him. You should be able to work out your differences in an adult manner if you want your marriage to thrive.

sounds like a rip-off big time here in illinois we have The All Kids program offers Illinois uninsured children comprehensive healthcare that includes doctors visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs, vision care, dental care and medical devices like eyeglasses and asthma inhalers. Parents pay monthly premiums for the coverage, but rates for middle-income families are significantly lower than they are on the private market. For instance, a family of four that earns between $42,000 and $63,000 a year pays a $40 monthly premium per child, and a $10 co-pay per physician visit. i'm surprised that New York doesnt have some kind of program like illinois.
