Do you agree with government mandated health coverage for every child that does not already have it

Do you agree with government mandated health coverage for every child that does not already have it?

it is only a welfare program and will result in actually LESS care and not more, no I dont like it
2 :
No I do not agree with it. If you are not finacially ready to have a child then you shouldn't have them until you are. Why should I have to pay for somebody elses child to see a doctor. If Congress takes over heath care, where is that money going to come from, yep you guessed it, our pockets. It's not my fault people dont have medical insurance. I have relatives who soak the system for medical and food because they are to lazy to get jobs. They just rely on government programs, so where is the incentive for them to find jobs?
3 :
Yes! There is no godly reason why that cannot happen. A great deal of work needs to be done in the health care agenda, and proper health care for all children who's parent are unable to afford private coverage should be on top of the list. It is shameful that there are so many children without basic coverage. The number of emergeny room trips recorded for infants and children in order to see a doctor is a national disgrace! Health care for all dependent children is a must do for the incoming democratic administration!
4 :
There is NOTHING in the Constitution of the United States that allows the federal government to interfere in health care so, NO I do not agree. Socialist medicine has never worked anywhere else but has become a bloated, money sucking bureaucracy that rations health care so that those who have paid the most in taxes over their lifetimes actually get the least for it. If you want to see how the government will mismanage health care for "every child" look at Medicare/Medicaid. Hold the parents responsible for the children they bring into this world.

If an O positive woman has a child with an O negative man, will the baby be healthy

If an O positive woman has a child with an O negative man, will the baby be healthy?
Would the child have health problems? Would there be problems with the delivery? I mean the Rh+ and Rh- factor. I know the baby would probably have one or the other blood type.
Trying to Conceive - 19 Answers

1 :
Nope! You're fine!
2 :
The baby will be O K. ahahahhahahahahahahahahaha. nah your baby wont live long
3 :
lol....there should be no problem
4 :
dont worry im O+ also and it is perfectly ok. dont listen to silly rumours uneducated people like to scare us with haha
5 :
Nope, word of adivce stop fukin the negatives
6 :
no..no matter at all.. its regarding Rh+ and Rh- ok
7 :
It will be fine, my parents are those same blood types you posted and I am in my 30's with no issues. so dont worry about it. :) Good luck
8 :
Blood type doesn't affect the child until you give birth. If you and your child are incompatible blood types, your blood can't mix, but the blood types of the parents does not affect the child negatively, it will only help determine what blood type the child will be
9 :
Some individuals have red blood cells which are Del, meaning they have a very low level of D antigen (the molecule on the surface of red blood cells that makes them Rh-positive) which is generally not detectable by Rh factor testing, but can induce anti-D antibodies in a true Rh-negative individual. If the baby's father was Del, he would type as Rh-negative but in fact be Rh-positive (with much much lower levels of the antigen than most Rh-positive individuals), and the baby could also be Del which would potentially still result in the usual complications with an Rh- mother carrying an Rh+ child.
10 :
Yes the baby will be fine! The baby will only have one blood type either the mothers or the fathers. It will not be mixed blood, so you are fine.
11 :
an old friend of mine was pregnant , She was o+ and her husband was o- She was 17 weeks when she lost the baby. The doctor told her that her body was fighting off the fetus cause it was unfamiliar with it. Cause when you have two o blood types that would make an A+ So she can't conceive a baby with her husband. I've only heard of this happening once. So don't take my word for it. I wish whoever is trying to conceive good luck <3
12 :
lol no... your child will have O type blood too, the only thing I'm not sure about is the rhesus factor (- or +) since that is on a different gene. 2 people with O blood does not make an A blood type like the person above is describing. I'm sure something unfortunate happened but you might have the facts confused. Blood types are Codominant... so if you have a person with A blood this could mean they have Aa or AA blood type. O blood types are ONLY aa blood types. B blood types are only Ba or BB. AB blood types are well.. AB. There is no way 2 people with O blood can somehow mutate into someone with A blood. It just doesn't happen. What I'm not sure of is the effects of the rhesus factor. What I have heard, however, is mothers bodies rejecting babies due to having a different blood type, so the mom has to go on immuno-suppressants in order to carry the baby to term. This is a rare condition, I presume.
13 :
Yes of course why wouldn't it?
14 :
It's completely fine. Your O Positive blood can accept O Negative blood even in a donation. The problem is when the Mom is O Negative, and the baby has any positive blood type. Any negative blood is called negative because it is missing an Rh factor. When that blood interacts with positive blood, it see the Rh factor in the postivie blood as something foreign and wants to attack it. Ignore Amanda, she's spouting all kinds of misinformation (unless she got her - and + mixed up).
15 :
I agree with kp
16 :
no its going to be a real fuked up baby
17 :
When the mom has rh+ blood, the father's rh factor doesn't matter. Only creates an issue when it's the other way around and the mom is negative.
18 :
I am A RH Neg and my husbands O positive O.o When my fallopian tube burst they had to give me a shot so I didn't poison myself from my own blood... Kind of scary.
19 :
if you were a negative and the father was a positive i think they can give you some antibiotics or something like that. because there is a chance of the baby having a positive blood type its called rh factor and if you are not positive your body can try to fight the babys blood type. but you being positive means your good (: the baby will probably be O positive (:

how do you make dad pay for health insurance for the minor child

how do you make dad pay for health insurance for the minor child?
he has been ordered by the court to carry insurance. he will get it then he will drop it again. the only time i find out that he has dropped it is when i have to take my son to the doctor. the child support enforcement agency always says they will send him a letter but it doesnt help. i dont know what to do or where to go to find any answers. do i get an attorney, do i pay the bill then sue the father, do i get insurance and then sue the father. i cant find answers anywhere. thank you

Get a lawyer, and get after this creep.
2 :
Get a lawyer, and fight for what is yours.
3 :
Since he has violated an court order. Get and attorney or contact your districts states attorneys office.
4 :
Attorney. He and the courts can force husband to get insurance and have the money to pay for it removed form his wages by his employer before he gets his hands on it.
5 :
Take him to court and have the looser put in jail for a while. That ought to convince him he needs to take care of his children! If it is court ordered, he is in contemp of court. See if there are not any child support enforcement agencies in you area.
6 :
This is a very common problem. I suggest you put the child on medicaid, the next time Dad drops the insurance. Then the child will have coverage that isn't dependent upon him and Medicaid can go after him for any monies that need to be recovered. I would also call his employer and tell them it is mandatory that he keep his children on the insurance and send them a copy of the divorce order that says so. Good Luck!
7 :
If it is court ordered for him to have the insurance for the child, then petition the court to make him keep the insurance. You can get a lawyer, but also do this on your own. He is in contempt of court each time he lets the insurance go. Talk to a lawyer if you feel you will need the help. They can get the paperwork done and to the courts for you. I would ask the lawyer if his fees can be charged to the father.
8 :
Talk to your attorney. He has violated a court order and can be held in contempt of court and go to jail. Chances are that he will not want to go there and keep the insurance.
9 :
You get an attorney and file a Petition for Citation of Contempt. A court date will be set and he will be served with a summons to court. In the petition you get to list what he has done wrong and what you wish to do in order to recover from the damages. You can list that you want to be reimbursed for your legal fees and that he pick up insurance on the kids. Or that he has to reimburse you for your legal fees and that you will pick up insurance and he will have to pay you for it each month. Good luck!
10 :
it sucks but you pay the bill... pay the $45 court fee and take him to small claims court. take a copy of your divorce/separation agreement with you. the judge will find in your favor. bad side is this.. if he doesn't have the cash, they can only put a judgment on him... your other option is to go to family court and fill out a form stating he is in violation of a court order... bla bla bla... ( that is how i feel about the family court though ) i just read the answer before mine... i say this... you already have a court order in place... what will a second one do??? take him to small claims court and sue him...
11 :
You need to get an attorney, then you can go after him for contempt of court. If he was ordered to pay, then he must. Document as much as you can. If you can prove how many times he has done this, it will go better for you in court. You also have to go after him for the attorney fees, If he was doing as he was suppose to, you won't have to take him to court. You at this point can pay the bill, then take him to court for the bill, plus interest. At least in Iowa you can.
12 :
If he keeps leaving jobs or dropping it the only thing to do at this point will be to get the children insurance yourself. Unfortunately the court really has not been able to get a hold of these guys who do this because of the way the system is so backed up buy the jerks who wont pay. Look into programs in your state for low income families and see what you can qualify for there are programs based on a sliding scale according to your income. On your next court date have your receipts in hand and see if the court will force him to reimburse you or tag the cost onto his support this is what happened in my case. (Live in FL)
13 :
Well I am happy to help you with this one. I am a retired deputy sheriff and boy guys thinik they are so cute.. Yes you do need another lawyer a lady one... Yep a lady and she will stick it right up his butt.. For now go to deadbeatdads.com Good luck.... Grant M in Pennsylvania

Why is the age of the father at the birth of child an important determinent of the health of future generati

Why is the age of the father at the birth of child an important determinent of the health of future generati?
generations? Do all genetic illnesses have their origin in a distant or recent mutation?
Biology - 3 Answers

1 :
because as we get older sperm MUTATIONS occur, sperm without tails or sperm which cannot enter the egg at all because theyre weak. Its really quite simple.
2 :
As men get older, their sperm detiorates, so the higher "quality" sperm is when they are younger...my dad was 37 when I was born and have had loads of physical problems....
3 :
New research indicates that the genetic quality of sperm worsens as men get older, increasing a man's risk of being infertile, fathering unsuccessful pregnancies and passing along possibly other genetic diseases to his children. A study led by scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and the University of California, Berkeley, found a steady increase in sperm DNA fragmentation with increasing age of the study participants, along with increases in a gene mutation that causes achondroplasia, or dwarfism. The first changes were observed in men in their early reproductive years. http://www.emaxhealth.com/52/6169.html

I couldn't find any from Bush...but did find some rather funny comments by others! Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV): “[Saddam] is too dangerous of a man to be given carte blanche with weapons of mass destruction.” (Brendan Riley, “Nevada Leaders React To Iraq Bombing,” The Associated Press, 12/17/98) Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): “Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.” (Rep. Nancy Pelosi, "Statement On U.S. Led Military Strike Against Iraq," Press Release, 12/16/98) Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY): “In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al-Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.” (Sen. Hillary Clinton, Congressional Record, 10/10/02, p. S10288) Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA): “We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.” (Sen. Edward Kennedy, Remarks At The Johns Hopkins School Of Advanced International Studies, 9/27/02) Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV): “There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction.” (Sen. Jay Rockefeller, Congressional Record, 10/10/02, p. S10305)

Well Jim, you know that would take away from our war money. Can't have that.
2 :
What about the parents
3 :
republicans wont allow it. They hate a prosperous america.
4 :
Why should we? Their parents should pay for it. If you can't afford to take care of a kid, you shouldn't have one.
5 :
Cons would rather give it through corporate welfare.
6 :
because of bill and monica.
7 :
Some states are doing that. But I think teh people how are affected (the poor) have no voice in politics. So, nobody cares.
8 :
BECAUSE AMERICA IS TO BUSY GIVING THE MONEY TO OTHER COUNTRIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9 :
How much have you given so far?
10 :
Because we spend it all either romancing or warring against nations with oil.
11 :
Thats simple, beacuse were a capatalistic society and not a socialist state. Its the reason were the greatest nation on this earth. Nice touch notadummy, hooray!!!!
12 :
The premise is wrong. You need to do some research--beyond a simple answers forum. Do you know, for example, that everyone in the USA has access to emergency medical treatment at public hospitals, regardless of ability to pay? And that every county provides free or low-cost clinics open to anyone regardless of ability to pay?
13 :
The politicians are saving it for their next war. It may happen in Switzerland. I think they are the richest country in the world. P.S. They don't have a big army!
14 :
We do! You can go to any hospital and they have to help you if it is an emergancy. Besides that nobody I know wants to spend their tax money on raising someone elses kids for them.
15 :
we have enough money to give health care to all of our people BUT the doctors medical companies have enough poultice power to stop it they are making to much money as it is now & they do not want the government telling them what to do,BUT one day the people will get mad & rise up to stop the high cost of healthcare!!!!
16 :
America is one of the richest country's in the world yet we have no nationalized medical program officially 15 % of the US how ever children are only 20% as adults are 80 percent of the uninsured. one thing though I suspect is the amount of people who are uninsured or were not insured the full year, as I worked for several company's in the past who insurance plan was a joke and covered next to nothing. so i suspect those of Us who have a real insurance plan are closer to about 60 % so leaving 40% under insured or with no insurance. so the answer is simple there are uncaring people in powerful places and a medical community who knows all to well what medicare pays as our current government seems to be wanting to destroy medicaid /medicare by cutting what it will pay to hospitals so no doctor will take it and keep raising the co pays way beyond the cost the of living so making it unaffordable to be on it. but who did not expect that when the president negotiated the drug bill with the drug company's he did not even try to get a discount on the medications so was a lot higher then the various state Medicaid prices had negotiated in a way he sold out to the drug company's the same way he sold out to Arab oil by owing them big time as they bailed out 3 of Bushes failed oil company's

Health Insurance and Child Support

Health Insurance and Child Support
We went to court 3 months ago to get our child support lowered and received added visitation for my husbands 8 year old son. We have been going to court back and fourth for 2 years now. The court gave us an estimated CS obligation of around 15-100$ after deductions. We are currently paying 323. one of the deductions was health insurance of which my husband can apply for through his work for 80 a week. Thats just for the childrens coverage....My question is, is there any way we can show rather than paycheck stubs that this amount is ungodly expensive, and that it can not be afforded? My step son has a medical card just like our other 2 children. That right there should show we can not afford insurance. At one time we were contacted about getting insurance on my 5 year old stepdaughter and they dropped it because she had a medical card, we had one on our child, and it showed that the health insurance cost would be too expensive. Im going to talk to our lawyer about this any suggestions on how to go about this? Anyone with similar situations have suggestions? please we just need help we are tryin to get away from being broke. Its not that we do not want to pay childsupport, we supply his son with everything he needs when it comes to school etc. Its just the fact that this childs mother does not work, and wants my husband to PAY for EVERYTHING "SHE" hence SHE does. What can we do??!!!!! ---Yes, I say WE went to court, and WE have a childsupport obligation Because WE are married, and WE share all obligations.....This is too the ones of which would like to be a smart azz!

All I know is that the parent who pays the child support usually pays for the health insurance. If the child is all ready under some sort of health insurance there is no need to add on any other one. So if say, the child is under state medical insurance and the mother is on welfare then you shouldn't have to pay child support and insurance too. But double check with the lawyer because he knows the rules for support in your particular state, and they do vary from state to state. Divorce is horrible for everyone, anyone that tells you it gets you away from problems has no clue what they are talking about, especially when children are involved for the next 10 years!
2 :
Insurance can be confusing. My wifes ex was ordered to carry insurance on their two kids. He lived in Arkansas and we lived in Florida. The kids were covered by FLAKIDS State insurance but the court continued her ex to carry seperate insurance through his job.
3 :
In most cases, they only go on potential income. They not only look at what the current income is, but will also go back a few years. This is to try to prevent some deadbeat dads going out and getting a job that pays less, then complaining that they can't afford child support payments. I'm not implying this is the case in your situation, because I have no way of knowing. A good test to see if you are really paying too much: If the child was living with you, how much would you be paying each month for raising the child? This is not only items you buy specifically for the child, but also includes what you pay for rent/mortgage, heat and electricity, food, transportation to and from where ever (dance class, soccer practice, etc.), and many other things. I would be willing to bet that it would be considerably higher than the $323 you currently pay.
