How do you mean? Imagination as in imaginary friend? Using their imagination to write stories in school? Playing pretend games with friends? Define child? In young children an imagination is a good thing and can be used daily as long as they can distinguish the difference between the real world and that which is in their minds. Older children should usually graduate from pretend games and elementary school at the same time, excessive imaginary games and friends can turn into compulsive lying and can be a sign of weakness and insecurity, they can also use it to pretend problems that do exist in their lives aren't there. Make your question a bit more specific.
2 :
They could get dissociative identity disorder if they practice imagining themselves as different people a little too much.
3 :
First off, dissociative identity disorder is very rare - if you consider it to be a disorder, which is actually debated in the literature - and isn't exactly caused by using your imagination. It's more or less creating different identities in order to cope with trauma.. Besides this, imagination is a wonderful concept, especially for only children. As far as I am concerned, it doesn't have any effect on a child's emotional health. I don't know how you come to the conclusion that the two are inter-related. If you want to explain more, I might have a better answer.

Cigarette Tax possibly funding Child Health Care

Cigarette Tax possibly funding Child Health Care?
Congress is trying to formulate a bill that will raise cigarette taxes to a dollar a pack, to fund child health care. States have raised cigarette taxes 73 times since the year 2000. Children should have health care when their family can't afford it, children are obviously the future, but how is it fair to tax the smokers again? If Congress feels so passionate about it then why don't they help fund it instead of going after other people? I don't think it's fair to target a group like that, and when they "phase out smoking" or whatever, who and what will they tax afterwards? Yes, I am a smoker, and a college student- I know the risks of smoking, trust me, my family has been smoking for the past 100 years, but if I want to I should be able to without being ridiculously overtaxed. When is enough enough, wasn't taxes an enormous issue when we broke away from England? I want your opinion, that is mine, enlighten me, and don't say it's bad for you health, so is other pollution... WASHINGTON - Congress is taking new whacks at the cigarette industry, banning tobacco sales in Senate buildings and — more importantly — seeking a significant federal tax increase on cigarettes . "I think the industry has tried to do things more quietly, largely because they obviously know how popular a tobacco tax is," said Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA. The health advocacy group supports a proposed $35 billion increase in the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which a higher cigarette tax would finance. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071110/ap_on_go_co/tobacco_tax

My kids have health insurance. I get it where I work. I do pay for it but nothings free. There's very few job that don't offer health benefits. You will have to pay your fair share. It seems like the only people complaining about no heath insurance are the one who want it for free. I work hard for my health insurance and I don't want to pay for some freeloader on reliefs health plan too. Plus God help those who help themselves. Get a job.
2 :
they are going to tax smokers until everyone quits because they know we are of the lower income class to me its discrimination . i think if they taxed soft drinks then it would be a fair tax for everyone.
3 :
If the Americans think they have problems spare a thought to us poor Brits. A pack of cigarettes here cost an average of 11 dollars a pack, most of which is tax.
4 :
When everyone quits smoking, where will they get the funding? Raising the alcohol tax is next!

Child Health Insurance Program Turned Down By Republicans

Child Health Insurance Program Turned Down By Republicans?
I just read that top Senior Republicans are telling Bush to veto a bill that would increase cigarette tax by 61 cents , that money would go to a program that gives health insurance to children who's families who don't qualify for Medicaid because they make too much , but not nearly enough to afford private insurance. The proposed budget was $35 billion, it would be cut to short of $5 billion. I ask you people, how on earth could you possibly turn down a program such as this? Are you purely inhuman? The majority of Americans are middle to lower class and can't afford any form of insurance, so they pay dearly when their children go to the hospital and many are forced into debt. I ask you, is this fair? Name one good reason this program SHOULDN'T pass! Normally I don't single out responders but Jeepers Peepers 321 has to be the dumbest person I've had post on any question. Most people post with sense, even if I DON'T agree with them , so please, don't misunderstand me, but his ignorant "fact" speaks volumes of his self. 85% of americans have insurance? Ok , if that's true how come we are the only country in the freeworld ( i.e Commerce successful) without a National Health Service? Get the facts straight before you put your foot in your mouth chief.

sounds about right brace yourself for a lot of wierd news the repubs are going out with style
2 :
I don't know. I run my own business and although I make 6 figures I cannot cover afford to cover myself monthly, but my two children are covered through NYS child health plus. It's a high deductible, but quality affordable health care. That veto plan is disgusting.
3 :
How about the fact that our country is 6 trillion dollars in debt???......Anyone? Anyone care about that?......That's what I thought.....
4 :
It seems consistent with their standard platform stances against increases in taxes.
5 :
The majority of americans cannot afford any form of insurance ?? Ah, 85% of americans have health insurance already. When did 15% become the majority? How could they turn it down ? The same way the democrats tried to kill providing prescription drugs for senior citizens. The same way democrats killed national health care in 1973, 1978 and 1994.

I agree with Jeeper_peeper3

No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web. Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around? the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great. this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins. The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman. Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy. So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net. Good starting point is at this site. http://insurance.deal4-you.com Good luck.

Yes you absolutely can.
2 :
Some insurance company's will let you but you will have to call the insurance company and talk to them. If they will not you add her they will the child when it is born
3 :
No
4 :
You really need to talk to your HR people. Different companies follow different rules. She may have to apply for public assistance, but once your baby is born you should be able to automatically add the child to the insurance. I know my work wouldn't let me add someone even if I had them on may taxes is I weren't married to them.
5 :
You can always add the child after you give birth even when you are not mariied, if they try and deny you get an attorney. However, adding a significant other depends on your insurance company, the company you work for and the state you live in. Start with your human resource department first.
6 :
Yes, you can add you child as soon as it's born. The signigicant other depends on your insurance carrier and if you can prove you provide more than 50% of thier support.
7 :
As others stated, the baby can be added when born, but you will have to show that you support your significant other. I work for a major health insurance company in the customer service department and have seen people add their mothers, grandmothers, etc, as long as they prove they are supporting them. Laws will vary from state to state and also within your own employer's policy; but call and ask your insurance company.

Does the Universal child health care cancellation in hawaii prove that universal health care is a mistake

Does the Universal child health care cancellation in hawaii prove that universal health care is a mistake?
Hawaii, the only U.S. state to offer universal child health care, is dropping the program just seven months after launching it. Gov. Linda Lingle's administration cites budget shortfalls and other health care options for eliminating the program. A state official complained that the program was aimed at helping low-income people and immigrants, but that better-off families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan. Does this prove that universal healthcare is a bad idea? or would universal health care be different/successful for some reason? article: http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5hLmnk2nJW1GlWETxZ5EknjKJCYgg

It shows that there are serious problems with such a program. I think a much better solution would be to revisit many of the existing government regulation that distorts the markets and makes health insurance so expensive to start with.
2 :
Absolutely. This undeniably proves that people that can not afford medical care should be left to die in the streets. Any other course of action is a slippery slope to socialism and anarchy.

Tennessee child health care benefits, without knowing the father

Tennessee child health care benefits, without knowing the father?
I was speaking to a friend, and she has received a phone call from the Tennessee state health department claiming that if she cannot produce a father for her child should lose her health benefits for her child. I have done the search for new laws pertaining to this and I am not able to find any. could someone direct me to use new law with the literature involved in it so I can see if this would be a valid case for her to dispute as there is no way for her to submit this information. the father was only in town for a couple of months make a candy coated bunch of bs than disappeared. She never got his birthday etc etc and his name is to common to find him she cant find the father and needs help... we all pay taxes and this may be taken wrong but is not racist There are millions of Hispanic families with full benefits that came here illegally and don't pay taxes. With all due respect I pay my taxes like everyone else and I see a young mother in real need of help, unlike some of these leaches who lie about disability etc. sucking the system dry. So you mean to tell me you agree in a bastardized system that allows illegals to have fully paid for food housing health and education but a struggling young mother needing help not on food stamps or in public housing needing the health care benefits to pay for the shots and checkups a child needs in a system that supposedly is there for any child is in need and we are talking about a mother who does not have a husband or a awesome career. I have to disagree and tell you on your point of view and say that's a bad ansewe

Good. She ought to know who she was having sex with. And the father should be forced to pay for the care of his child. Call the State Health Department and ask them to send you the literature on the law, or get the law number and look it up on-line.
2 :
When mothers ask the state to foot the bill for their child in the form of Medicaid, welfare, food stamps, WIC, Section 8 housing, etc., any kind of public assistance, the Attorney General of that state will go after the other parent to pay child support. This isn't a new law. If your friend knows who is the father and she wants the taxpayers to feed her child, she'll have to fess up....If your friend does not know who the father is, she should call Maury Povich....

If she was two or older, you'd be able to buy a great low/no deductible policy for her, for about $200 a month, assuming she's in good health. BUT. Right now, you'll only be able to buy a high deductible plan, for about $100 a month. Because that first year, is LOADED with well baby checkups and shots, you won't find an insurance company willing to cover that. That first year of ROUTINE medical care, if nothing goes wrong, and she doesn't get sick - can cost $8,000.
2 :
Yes, there are several companies out there who sell Child Only plans. Just do a websearch and start getting online quotes
3 :
Yes. Arbitrarily using 1/1/2010 as the date of birth and ZIP code 33442 (my grandmother used to live there), I ran a price check on http://www.ehealthinsurance.com to whether what was available and what it would cost. The lowest premium was $53.79 per month for Humana Monogram Total/7500 Plus Rx, but that has a $7500 deductible. The highest premium was $629 per month for Aetna POS Open Access First Dollar 35 with no deductible. Run this again (the website is http://www.ehealthinsurance.com ) using the correct date of birth and the correct zip code.
