In America a Black woman is 3 times more likely to have an abortion than a white woman whilst a hispanic woman is 2 and a half more times likely to have one. Obviously because these two groups of people are poorer they have more abortions. How good does health insurance cover newborn babies?

Where do you get your facts from? Poor women generally don't have access to birth control or abortion services in the manner that more well-to-do women do. A well-to-do woman is much more likely to be able to afford an abortion as theraputic abortions are never covered by state medical care and rarely are covered by insurance. Simply assuming that economics is the sole reason for an allegedly disproportionate abortion rate is potentially faulty logic. Considerable added research would be needed to establish the cause & effect relationship. When insurance coverage is available to the woman, care is generally very good.

America has a program called Medicaid that is available to all pregnant women that are lower income. Medicaid is covers 100% of all medical bills and medication for approved physicians and hospitals. Then medicaid will cover the newborn until it is 18 years old. The medicaid coverage will pay for 100% of all medicine and medical bills. The downside of Medicaid is that it is only available to extremly lower income women and the coverage will only apply to approved (less desirable) physicians. I don't believe that the insurance situation is the reason for african american abortion rates. America is a very interesting place to examine the difference in present day cultures. Morals are at an all time low in our country, and black communities are being primarily driven on dreams of drugs, sports, or music. And, just to be clear, I am a pro-choice, hip-hop loving, female.

Women who are having abortions are not taking the proper birth control precautions and end up getting pregnant. I don't believe it is about the persons economic status because I believe the government or even the health clinics in these areas will give these people free condoms and/or birth control pills. Its the fact that these people choose not to use it that is causing the problem. I think this problem has to do with the fact that in most white families the father and mother (regardless if divorced or not) are still present in their children's lives and they discuss birth control with their children so they are less likely to get pregnant in the 1st place. If my daughter asks her mother or I about this, she will know 1st hand that pregnancies are avoidable and cheaper and less painful than an abortion. I am not sure if this happens in the African American or Latin American families. Health insurance has nothing to do with this topic.

No, the truth about how bad abortion is for a woman's body is not being told. Selfishness is another reason we have so many abortions. Selfishness from parents and women who would rather kill a child than raise one or give it up for adoption to one of the millions of couples trying to adopt. Giving a baby up is hard so killing it is easier???????? Young women instead of being told not to sleep around before you can handle the consequences physically and financially are being told it's o.k. you can always have an abortion if you get pregnant. My heart goes out to the young girl that made the mistake of getting pregnant and then had her parents or someone she loves talk her into such a terrible mind scarring, body mutilating act. It's really not about the money that's just another lie that has been put out there, it all goers back to consequences for actions. Don't you think it's time America to start teaching our children about consequences and prevention!!!!!!!
