Why should parents' rights come before the child's health

Why should parents' rights come before the child's health?
I believe a doctor should be allowed to do whatever is best for the patient without asking the parents' permission to do anything. They can be informed, but damn it, the child's health and well being should come before parental rights. My aunt is a nurse, and she's seen kids in terrible pain and doctors can't do anything about the pain because the parents are pondering whether anesthesia is good or not. It's sick parental rights come before another person's health and well being.

Sometimes a parent has a 'gut feeling' that something will harm their child. and you can even go a stretch. The right of a 'mom' trumps the right of her unborn child (aka fetus). She can have the doctor kill the perfectly healthy baby, so she the mom is not inconvenienced.

Doctor skills, practices, knowledge, and interests are all over the place. They are only human. Parents know their children better than the doctors they see. Your point of view is clearly limited to your perception of your aunt's experiences.

yes, but if it violates a religious code, they can be sued. there are people out there who follow a religion where they believe piercing the skin in anyway is a defilement of the body and makes you unpure. then you have the crackpot Watchtower people (i cannot think of the name right now, my brain is fried) who won't take blood.

I hate to tell you...but parents have the right...to decide whats best for their children. Most parents...know whats better for their children...then the doctor does. Your communist...thinking...is illogical and won't ever get you married...to have your own children. I do however agree with this: "I'd rather that money go to health care than for a pointless war."
